November 2 marked the official groundbreaking at St. Clare, with speeches from our CEO Sonya Smart, VMCH Chair Julien O’Connell AO and Vin Sammartino from our construction partner, Hacer Group. Cynthia Watson from the City of Boroondara spoke about the positive impact the development will have on the community. Guests enjoyed champagne and canapes while listening to live jazz, with many future residents taking the opportunity to meet their neighbours. St. Clare’s design is sympathetic to the site’s unique past, with two historic mansions re-purposed into shared spaces, including a pool, wellness centre, gym, cinema, dining room, bar and library. The community has proved so popular with locals that a quarter of the residences sold off the plan through word of mouth and signage.
